63-acre Atlantis waterpark, AQUAVENTURE, the centerpiece of Atlantis' recent billion-dollar development  positions Atlantis as the largest water-themed attraction in the world, containing over twenty million gallons of water. This non-stop water experience, consists of thrilling new water slides, a mile-long river ride with high intensity rapids and wave surges, and never-before-seen special effects that add an extreme level of excitement to the overall experience, delivering a sensory journey unlike any other. AQUAVENTURE offers guests amazing experiences. More twists. More turns. More surprises. And because of its immersive and special visual effect technologies, AQUAVENTURE will never be exactly the same experience twice.

AQUAVENTURE adds first-of-its-kind special effects and technology to its water slides and river rides, bringing them together in a lush environment that is both immersive and interconnected. Once guests are situated in their inner tubes, they are propelled along by water escalators, waves, water surges and master blaster technology. Unlike traditional water slides that require the participant to leave the water and climb back to the start, at AQUAVENTURE guests never have to leave the water as they are propelled back up the slide tower via water conveyors.

The Power Tower 121-foot tower featuring serveral water attrations. 200-foot-long water conveyor that transports riders on their inner tubes all the way up to the top of the tower to ride the tube slides. Once at the top, hang on for the ride of your life. Imagine plunging down a tube in the dark center of the Power Tower straight towards a brick wall or a rotating fan. This illusion is created by state-of-the-art water curtain video technology that will project images into the middle of the slide.

The Drop is a single or double inner tube rides begins with an ominous “drop” through darkness in an enclosed tube. Riders then encounter the open-air twists and turns of this thrilling water slide before splashing down into The Current.

The Abyss is a 200-foot-long body slide with a near vertical drop of over 50 feet and an overall 14-second ride in total darkness. Exiting through a rolling waterfall, riders plunge into a pre-historic sea creature lair. And it's not over yet, because blocking the escape route are fierce alligator gars - very much alive and very frightening, an illusion is created by clear acrylic panels that extend below the Abyss Lagoon's surface.

The Surge starts at the top level of the Power Tower, this inner tube ride features a camel back drop into a cavern, then quickly down twisting and turning white-water rapids caused by a flash flood, returning you to The Current.

The Leap of Faith slide offers the daring and adventurous, a 60 ft. almost-vertical drop from the top of the Mayan Temple, propelling riders at a tremendous speed through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon.

On the five-story corkscrew Serpent Slide, guests travel on a tube at high speeds through the darkness of the Temple's core. The twisting and turning ride culminates with a leisurely pass through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon. Located at the Mayan Temple.

Challenge a friend instead of the sharks! Guests can race each other, two at a time, down the twin high-speed Challenger Slides. Check your speeds on the time clocks at the bottom of the slides and see who won! Located at the Mayan Temple.

The Current is a one-mile-long tidal wave river ride with 8-foot high elevations and drops, a whitewater rapids section, and multiple tunnels and caves. Think this is a lazy river? Think again. Giant pulses of water sent into the river system will create 4-foot-tall waves and water capable of moving at a remarkable 30 miles per hour. Faux fire will thrill riders as they enter the tunnels. Guests will be able to spend hours in the water and never have to get off their inner tubes to ride the river and slides. Double tubes carrying two passengers will create shared, thrilling memories.

Lazy River Ride everyone in the family will enjoy the relaxing and scenic lazy river ride. Sitting in a tube, guests slowly meander around a quarter-mile loop, guided by a gentle current. Located outside the Beach Tower.

The Current River Ride

Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the water slides. The pools are open and lifeguards are on duty from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The water slides are open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Children ages 16 and under that are within the pool and beach areas must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Swimming in the lagoon or ocean beyond the buoys and designated marked areas is not allowed.

Wearing shoes, sandals or "aqua socks" is strongly recommended, especially for children of all ages. Guests with visible injuries (i.e. casts, bandages, etc.) are not permitted to ride the slides. Please remove all jewelry, watches and eyewear before riding the slides. Do not place valuables in swimsuit pockets.

Wrist pouches may be purchased at the Towel Huts to secure personal items. Swimwear with zippers, rivets, buttons or metal ornamentation is not allowed on slides. Pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the slides. Most water features are monitored by lifeguards during operating times which are posted at each entrance point. The water features are closed after this time and swimming is not allowed. It is a government regulation that children under 16 years of age that are within pool and beach areas must be accompanied by an adult.
